The people of this country had better become aware of the fact that this president, Donald Trump, and his cohort, Elon Musk, the wealthiest man in the world, are taking over the reigns of government. They are defying the constitution of the United States of America and totally ignoring the co-equal separation of power between the executive and legislative branch. The legislative branch of government is the congress and senate, and it is they who decide how our nation’s money is distributed, whether it be for disaster relief in California or funding our nation’s Head Start programs.
Trump’s imminent disregard and shuttering of existing programs is depriving children of food, elderly people of healthcare, endangering Social Security, and leaving government workers, who have devoted their lives for the benefit of all people of the United States, without work. It is as clear as the light of day that this administration is an AUTOCRACY!!! The so called president of this country has no regard for the survival of the people of the United States of America.
Trump and his cronies’ only interest is to benefit themselves and those wealthy members of our nation who, blindly, support them. This is an administration of crooks and criminals, and it is the right and obligation of the court system of this country to duly prosecute them.
As William R. Bay, the president of the American Bar Association, points out in a statement regarding the current administration’s withholding of federal funding, “[R]efusing to spend money appropriated by Congress under the euphemism of a pause is a violation of the rule of law and suggests that the executive branch can overrule the other two co-equal branches of government…This is contrary to the constitutional framework and not the way our democracy works. The money appropriated by Congress must be spent in accordance with what Congress has [indicated]. It cannot be changed or paused because a newly elected administration desires it. Our elected representatives know this. The lawyers of this country know this. It must [be stopped.]”
